Size Exclution Chromatography Resins
“Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), also known as Gel Filtration, is a powerful technique for the purification and analysis of high molecular weight compounds. Separation of particles in this method is based on the effective molecular size and shape of the molecules.
Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) is a non-adsorptive method used for purifying protein samples from each other, separating salts from proteins, and exchanging sample buffers. The support (stationary phase) in this technique consists of porous beads, such as agarose 6B or agarose 4B, through which buffer and smaller proteins can diffuse.
The resins used in Size Exclusion Chromatography, with particle sizes ranging from 45 to 165 micrometers (μm), are available in various grades as listed below:”
“Purificatin Based on Protein Size”
ArgPure Agarose Cl-6B
ArgPure Agarose Cl-4B
ArgPure Agarose Cl-2B
